Richard Dawson

Richard joined Erewash Sound in 2019 and presented the Alternative’80s show throughout lockdown. He has also welcomed in the new year for the past three years with the New Years Day breakfast show.

He can now be found hosting Sunday Morning Breakfast - a creative mix of features including ‘The Short Sunday Service’, 'Erew’arts’ and 'Now That’s What I Call Vinyl'. When not on the radio you can find Richard either on stage with Erewash Musical Society or leading the ‘Crux’ Christian Community in Long Eaton.

Sunday Breakfast is now becoming almost legendary for "bringing the sunshine" with a burst of Morecambe & Wise at the end of each show.

A staunch supporter and campaigner for Erewash Sound, early 2024 saw Richard complete a mammoth 50+ hour Radiothon from The Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton in aid of the radio station (a non-profit making social enterprise), and two other local charities - Everyone Eats and Hope Long Eaton.
