Dan Martin
Dan is here every weekday afternoon from 4pm with all the music you'll love to get you home after a busy day in Erewash. He'll put a smile on your face with the Teatime Toetappers at 5.30pm. On the show is the latest on the roads twice an hour to help you beat the queues.
But who is Dan?
Dan is a local guy from Borrowash. He always wanted to be on the radio from the moment he walked into the hospital radio studio of Radio Link in Derby, whereas one of his treats in school holidays was to sit in on his Dad's hospital radio show. Dan first took to the air in 2005 on internet only radio station QMR.
He joined the on-air line-up of Erewash Sound's online only service in 2007 to host Saturday evenings. When Erewash Sound launched on FM in March 2010, Dan made the move to Saturday afternoons and was the fourth presenter to broadcast on 96.8 FM on the very first day! Dan also presented Homeward Bound and Morning Plus in the early years of Erewash Sound on 96.8 FM.
In October 2012, Dan took a break from on-air presenting to pursue other opportunities, but returned in 2014 on Friday and Saturday nights to present the brand new Party Classics show, which he still presents to this day.
In addition to being on the air, Dan is Erewash Sound's Broadcast Technology Director. Along with Paul Stacey, he heads up the radio stations technology team who are responsible for making sure all the equipment is working correctly and all the wires are plugged into the right sockets. On the very rare occasion something goes wrong, Dan is there to fix it (or he has caused it).
