On 18th February 2021, 20 year old Freya Tarbit finished 5th out of almost 30 international competitors in the Junior European Skeleton Championships held in Innsbruck, Austria as part of the British team. She clocked a combined time from two runs of 1 minute 48.82 seconds, just over a second behind the first place competitor.

Freya, from Ockbrook, joined Ian Perry on the Lazy Sunday show on 7th March to talk about the difference between skeleton - her own discipline - and bobsleigh, plus her route into the sport, international travel during a pandemic, how the competition went for her, how and where she trains, plus hopes of representing her country and Erewash too in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
