Report: The match was fished over the two lakes, with the payout to the overall winner and then three section winners, two on Lake Two (A bank and B bank) and one on Lake Four.

The match started with a light SW wind, that varied in strength during the day from practically non-existent to quite strong. Although overcast initially, the clouds parted to give prolonged sunny periods, developing into a beautiful Autumn day.

Andy Findlay’s return after several weeks of absence was soon met at the draw with groans of disbelief as he pulled (flier) peg A20 from the bag.  Even though the pressure was on him it didn’t faze him, and he produced another superb display of method feeder fishing (although he did catch two carp on the pole halfway through) to put 98-11 on the scales for the overall win.

All the following weights and sections were quite closely contested, with many anglers mourning the loss of a single fish that cost them a section prize.

The B bank of Lake Two filled the next three places, John Adamson (B18) taking second place (and winning Section B) with 58-03 (all carp on the method feeder), followed by Dave Alewood (B14) with a method feeder caught 54-14, and Tony Lamb with 47-06, who caught carp on the pole with corn bait.

After Andy on the A bank, Gary Cook (overall 5th) took the section with 45-15 from peg A15, catching on the bomb and pole, closely followed by Peter Stockwin (A12 and 8th overall), who was a fish short on 37-12, Daz Shaw on A6 managing 30-14.

The Lake Four section was also close at the top.  Darren Hill (6th overall from peg 8) took the section with 39-06 of carp, all taken on bomb and treble corn bait, followed by Gaz Kitch (7th from peg 5) with 38-03, Tom Flower (9th overall from peg 13) with 37-03, Phil Hunt (peg 11) who included a lovely carp of 11-4, with 30-03, all taken on pole and corn.

Many thanks to all who assisted with the weigh-in, especially Andy Findlay who did much of the lifting.

The clocks alter this weekend, but I intend to keep the draw times the same until Spring, with entry and pay-in before 8:25 am, and the draw at 8:30 am.  The matches will now start at 10 am with a 4 pm finish.

NB. Nisa Opens are held most Wednesdays on Lake Two at Makins Fishery (see Facebook "Nisa - midweek open matches" to book a place).
