With several regular anglers unable to fish this week (elsewhere in festivals and for health reasons) the match was fished entirely on Lake Two, as the numbers were one short of the that required for the use of both lakes. This opened up Lake Four for pleasure anglers.

It was a warm and humid day, very dark and overcast with a light SW wind, much warmer than recent days, and no rain!  Although it looked good for fishing, this was one of the worst matches on the lake for a long time, as everyone struggled for bites.  Only five anglers waited for the scales.

Matt Gaetto on peg B10 was one exception.  He fished the pole at 13m, pinging a few pellets, and caught carp (on the deck) mainly on corn for 67-03 and a clear overall win.

Similarly, Rob Middleton on the opposite bank on peg A13 fished a similar match, and baited with maggot or pellet on different lines, again mainly hard on the bottom, he winkled out 45-10 (17-06 of which were silvers) for the second place overall and to win the A bank pool.

John Adamson (peg A15) only managed to catch 5 carp on his method feeder fished towards the island, for third overall with 22-00, with Tony Lamb in fourth place from peg A10 with 15-13.

Richard Reeve (peg B19) took fifth place overall and won the B bank pool by default with 15-13 caught varying ways to complete the prize list.

Many thanks to Rob Middleton for his scales-operative activities.

NB. Nisa Opens are held most Wednesdays on Lake Two at Makins Fishery (see Facebook "Nisa - midweek open matches" to book a place).
