A man has suffered serious injuries following a collision on the A52 near to Risley.
An emergency response including ground and air crews rushed to the scene near to M1 junction 25 having received a call at around 1:35pm on Monday 6th November detailing an incident involving a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was found to have suffered serious injuries. He was taken to hospital in Nottingham where he was last reported to be in a stable condition.
The road was closed for several hours to allow for enquiries to take place, with the westbound carriageway towards Derby reopened at around 4pm, but the eastbound carriageway remained closed until around 9pm with many drivers stuck for hours.
Police officers are appealing for anyone travelling along the A52 in that area with any information or dashcam footage, particularly in the moments before the collision, is asked make contact using any of the routes below quoting reference 23*688576:
