Ockbrook & Borrowash Parish Council are staging a free cycling festival for villagers to celebrate the arrival of the the Tour of Britain Cycle Race to and through Erewash.

The event on Saturday 7th September sees a 'meet' at the clock in Borrowash Village between 11am and 12noon to register and pick up a cycling badge.

Riders can choose the ride they want to do in advance and complete the ride at any time of the day, before reporting the total completion time by e-mail or text.

Rests can be taken during the ride, with those periods subtracted from the total completion time.  A leader board will be published and certificates and a badge given to everyone who participates.

Times can be reported to cllr.gregmaskalick @ ockbrookandborrowashparishcouncil.gov.uk and by text to 07834 728540 ensuring that you include your name, total completion time and an address to send certificates to.

Requirements:

  • YOU are in charge of your OWN safety
  • OBEY all rules of the road
  • WEAR proper equipment and clothing - helmets, gloves etc.
  • RIDE SAFELY! It is NOT a race - it is about having fun and completing a course.

Everyone is a winner!  Links to rides GPX files and maps can be found by clicking here.
