Over 3,500 children from primary schools and community groups across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire have helped raise over £17,200 for local charity Treetops Hospice.
The children took part in the hospices annual Reindeer Dash over winter. For the festive fundraiser, they donned reindeer antlers and completed obstacle courses, played reindeer football match, danced at discos, or simply dressed up for the day.
Treetops Community Engagement Officer, Amy Sykes, thanked everyone whod taken part. She said: Were so thrilled to announce the final total raised in the Reindeer Dash and we want to thank everyone whos been involved.
It was wonderful to see the children with their reindeer antlers, having fun whilst raising money for a great cause. The proceeds raised helps the hospice to provide bereavement support for children and young people. The amount raised will help fund over 500 counselling sessions which will really help children struggling after the death of a loved one.
The Reindeer Dash will return this Christmas and Treetops welcomes more schools and community organisations to take part.
