Summer amble at Spring Wood with LENS

The next Wildlife Walk with the Long Eaton Natural History Society takes place on Monday 29th April.

Previously managed by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, the visit is to the Spring Wood Nature Reserve, owned by Severn Trent Water, which has, since 2021, been leased to the National Trust under a 25 year lease.

It is bluebell time at the site and there will be a chance to see the picture of colour at this time of year by meeting at 2pm in the Severn Trent Car Park, postcode DE73 8BJ, grid reference SK 3782 2201, What3Words ///frocks.roses.digested, on the eastern side of Staunton Harold Reservoir near Melbourne.  The walk will be led by Rob Waldron along uneven muddy paths therefore those taking part should wear sensible footwear and clothing.

Cost £1.50 for LENS members, £2.50 for guests.  For more information, call Joan Breakwell on 07527 007280
