Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Policing and Traffic Officers have teamed up to tackle more road safety issues.

They also worked with the vehicle examiner team and the Local Authority licensing team on the operation which took place on Wilsthorpe Road in Long Eaton on Friday 24th January.  Cars were pulled into the car park of West Park Leisure Centre.

A total of 49 vehicles were stopped in just 3 hours, with offences including the use of a mobile phone whilst driving, not wearing seat belts, children travelling without car seats, cloned or false number plates, driving without insurance, driving without a valid MOT, tyre defects, unsecure loads and incorrectly displayed number plates.

In addition, five out of six taxis which were also stopped had minor licensing defects such as incorrect stickers and illegal tyres which are now being dealt with by licencing officers.
