Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Nicolle Ndiweni-Roberts is asking residents and business owners to get involved and submit any questions they may have about anti-social behaviour (ASB) in their community and across Derbyshire. This will be an opportunity to for the public to get answers from the Constabulary and hear about the work that is underway to help tackle this issue.
The Public Assurance Meeting will be held on 13th November and will be part of a series of recorded meetings that will be accompanied by written reports published on the Commissioner’s website.
The questions will be put to the Force and answered by the Chief Constable herself or the relevant specialist force leads where appropriate.
PCC Nicolle Ndiweni-Roberts said: “ASB was raised during my election campaign and again as I have been out speaking to residents in recent months. Tackling this behaviour continues to be a priority to many people and families living, working, visiting or studying in Derby and Derbyshire. There is a lot of work being done in the city and the county to reduce the problem and keep people safe, through more visible enforcement in key areas; work with partners to see those responsible ‘pay back’ their communities with unpaid work and for repeat offenders to be prosecuted.”
While the Commissioner meets with the Chief Constable on a weekly basis to discuss force performance and issues raised with her, she is determined to provide the public with the opportunity ask their own questions on areas of concern to them.
“I think it is important that local residents feel they can ask questions about the work that is being done to tackle their top priorities,” said Nicolle Ndiweni-Roberts.
“I vowed to be a PCC who gives residents a voice in regarding crime, community safety and policing. My Public Assurance Meetings are just one of the ways I aim to do that and I would really value the public’s involvement.”
Public Assurance Meetings will be recorded and published via the Commissioner’s website and social media channels.
Questions should be submitted in writing and cannot be in relation to current investigations. The deadline for submission of all questions is Monday 23rd September. To submit your questions, please visit this link.
