A Summer treat has been lined up for music lovers at one of one of the area's most historic buildings – as the borough council takes a leaf from the kind of concerts staged at stately venues.
The grounds of Grade II-listed Dalby House – a Georgian mansion that is now the borough’s museum – will host an intimate afternoon of live performances.
Top Gary Barlow lookalike Dean Barratt will be taking to the stage with his ever-popular Take@That crew.
Also performing will be leading Motown and Northern Soul singer Linzi Jay and fellow diva Laura Elson, who will serenade concertgoers with hits from the 80s.
Local people are invited to don their glad rags and bring picnics to the Music at the Museum event on Sunday 30th June. It runs from 3pm to 6pm and is perfect for families to enjoy a summer day out.
There will be a small number of stalls – with light refreshments available at the new Dalby House Café.
The award-winning Erewash Museum is near Ilkeston Market Place. Adult tickets for the event are £10 while entry for children is just £1.
The borough council has been able to subsidise the concert using government money from what is known as the Shared Prosperity Fund – which the museum qualifies for. This has helped keep entry fees lower. Tickets can only be purchased from either Ilkeston Town Hall or Long Eaton Town Hall.
Reception desks are open four days a week from 10am to 12 noon. Ilkeston Town Hall is closed on Wednesdays while Long Eaton Town Hall is closed on Thursdays.
