MP urges Erewash community groups to apply for National Lottery funding

Department for Transport

Maggie Throup OBE is urging local community and voluntary groups to apply for National Lottery funding.

Over the last five years, community and voluntary groups in Erewash have received £2 million from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK.

The National Lottery Community Fund awards grants to strengthen society and improve lives across the UK. Thanks to National Lottery players, it will distribute at least £4 billion by 2030, supporting activities that create resilient communities that are more inclusive and environmentally sustainable.

The Erewash MP said: “It is great news that The National Lottery Community Fund has helped community and voluntary groups across Erewash. Over the last five years, Erewash has been awarded £2 million through 77 grants. Thanks to National Lottery players, this funding can support people and communities in Erewash to thrive.

“I am urging voluntary groups and people across Erewash who have an idea of how to improve our community to seriously consider applying for The National Lottery Community Fund.”

National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. Last year The National Lottery Community Fund was able to distribute over half a billion pounds (£615.4 million) of life-changing funding to communities.
