A fond farewell is being given to one of the most loyal Police Community Support Officers in the borough - PCSO Adrian Harper.
Adrian joined the force 14 years ago from the Royal Marines and since then has worked on the Safer Neighbourhood team (SNT) in Morley as well as the Derby City suburb of Mackworth. He is now retiring to spend some quality time with his family.
SNTs are based in the heart of communities across Derbyshire and are there to address the very local and specific issues that they experience.
Adrians supervisor, PCSO Supervisor Matt Thurman, explained: Adrian has spent his whole time with Derbyshire police based in Morley and Mackworth, is a well-known face and I know he will be missed.
From his previous service in the Royal Marines Adrian played the bugle and this is something he has been asked to do many times at Remembrance Parades across his patch, something I know he has felt an honour to do.
Speaking of his retirement Adrian said: I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a PCSO, building relationships with and serving the communities of Morley and Mackworth. I particularly enjoyed my work with the Community Speed Watch.
I now have some time to peruse my interests, however I will still parade at The National Memorial Arboretum, playing Last Post & Reveille for military parades and memorials.
