Long Eaton Police Officers act on reports on suspicious activity and uncover cannabis grow

Police Officers from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team have taken action after receiving several reports of suspicious activity at a property in the town.

The attendance on Thursday 12th December came after members of the community got in touch via non-emergency contact routes. On arrival, a man ran from the scene but after a chase, he was apprehended and arrested on suspicious of production of cannabis to allow investigations to continue.

A search of the property led to the discovery of significant modifications to allow the production of Cannabis. A total of 54 plants were seized and prepared for destruction. Other plant and equipment found was subsequently taken down and dismantled.

Technical Sergeant Limb said: "This is another great example of the local community coming together to help tackle crime within their community. I would like to offer my thanks to everyone who takes the time to report this kind of suspicious activity."
