Long Eaton police issue guidance after reports of unwanted calls in the town

Guidance has been issued by Long Eaton Police Officers after receiving approaches by several people regarding suspicious callers offering to sell goods door to door in the area.

Although no evidence is held that the door step visit was not genuine and. referencing that no offences had been reported, a statement said that instances have suggested that the caller has generally visited late in the evening, and that such behaviour is suspicious.

Officers have therefore urged residents to remain vigilant when answering the door to unwanted, unknown callers and has signposted people to online guidance regarding various types of fraud, including doorstep fraud, which can be seen by clicking here.
