How many times have you said youre going to go to the gym, get fit and get healthy? Joining a gym can be a bit of a cliché "new year, new me". lifestyle change etc. Weve all been there.
A local gym member could certainly teach us all a few things about staying the distance where health and well-being is concerned.
Kim first joined Curves in Ilkeston a few months after it opened in October 2004 with plans to get into shape and lose a little weight for her summer holiday. However, in 2021, Kim is celebrating 16 years of membership and her 3,000th workout
Gym owner Sally Peacock said: "We are very proud of Kims achievement and she is a great inspiration to everyone. To have one of our founder members still with us is testament to Kims commitment to her health and the fact that our workout works, and is enjoyable. Kim has averaged 4 workouts a week, every week (allowing for her beloved holidays) for every one of those 16 years. Thats quite a record!
We have a number of members that are over 1000 workouts, and a couple over 2000 but Kim will always lead the way!
Kim said: My workouts have kept me fit and strong over the years, every woman should have Curves in their lives. Its a brilliant community and I always look forward to going, even now! Its just 30 minutes and with the support of a Coach, anyone can do it! Even lockdown hasnt stopped us, weve had calls from the Coaches and everything we need to keep working out until we could get back to the gym.
Anyone who is interested in getting started on their health and fitness journey should contact the Coaches at Curves Ilkeston on Facebook, Instagram or by messaging directly on 07741 483178, or calling 0115 944 4457.
