Last chance (deadline 25th March) to win £2,000 and support local patients

People are being encouraged to purchase entries into the Treetops Hospice Super Draw for a chance to win £2,000, before the deadline closes on Monday 25th March.

Each entry into the Lottery Super Draw gives players a chance to win one of 19 cash prizes, including the £2,000 jackpot.

Proceeds from the annual Super Draw help the charity provide free nursing care and emotional support for adults with life-limiting illnesses, those who’ve been bereaved, and their families.

Thanks to Treetops Hospice at Home nurses, Peggy Hatton, 70, from Spondon, was able to die at home as she wished, after being diagnosed with bowel cancer.

Peggy’s son, Daniel Schofield, 49, from Ilkeston, explained more: "When the Treetops nurses came at night, it was a godsend. They were so friendly, helpful, and understanding. They’d talk to mum and her eyes would light up that little bit. They would sort her out and then ask how we were as well, ask if we needed help.

“It was so reassuring that we had people that knew what we were going through and to put our minds at rest. It made us more relaxed and organised, and meant we could look after mum better. We weren't frantically panicking and bickering between each other about what needed doing.”

Without Treetops help, Daniel believes things would have been very different.

He added: “I can look back and say, we did everything we possibly could for mum with Treetops help. We could grant her wish and bring her home. And we could look after her with all the support that we got, knowing we were doing it right. I can't imagine going through it without the support we had.”

Rebecca Lee-Jones, Treetops Lottery Manager, said: “Entering the Super Draw is an easy way to support the hospice. All the proceeds help fund our hospice care and makes a real difference to local people like Peggy.”

Each Super Draw entry is just £1 and gives each entrant the chance to win one of 19 cash prizes including a £2,000 jackpot. Deadline for entries is midnight, Monday 25th March. Winners are drawn on Friday 29th March. Players must be aged 18 years and above. Full T&Cs apply.

Tickets for the Super Draw can be purchased through all nineteen Treetops charity shops, or online at www.treetops.org.uk/superdraw2024
