Ilkeston-based 'Our Back Yard' Hedgehog Rescue in appeal for old newspapers

An Ilkeston based hedgehog rescue service has made an appeal for old newspapers due to the impact of the Coronavirus on society activity.

Lesley Robinson got in touch with Erewash Sound stating that the organisation has homed over 90 hedgehogs over the winter, but that societal shut down had led to members struggling to get old newspapers.   She told us that they had been relying on people bringing papers to places that they came together such as Slimming World, Churches and gyms but that the link had now gone due to the closure of such sites.

Lesley said that a lot of newspapers were used in carng for the animals and has appealed to radio station listeners to collect papers and if possible, deliver them to her to use.  Lesley can be reached on 07773 680 264 or by calling 0115 930 5587.

Papers can be lett at the door at 26 Little Hallam Hill, Ilkeston. DE7 4LY, without any need to make contact.
