Garden waste collections to resume

Garden waste collections in Erewash will resume for the year in February.

In Ilkeston and the north of the borough, garden waste collections will resume the week of February 20th. In Long Eaton and the south of the borough, collections start again the week of Monday February 27th.

This means that the last dates that brown bins can be used for dry mixed recycling will be on the week of February 6th in Ilkeston areas and the week of February 13th in Long Eaton areas.

Councillor Garry Hickton, Lead Member for Environment at Erewash Borough Council, said: “It’s that time of year again when spring is fast approaching and residents are keen to get back in their gardens.  We are pleased to confirm the dates for the garden waste collections resuming and would like to remind people that the brown bins can then only be used for garden waste.”

Information about what can be put in a brown bin can be found on the gardens waste collections page of erewash.gov.uk
