An Erewash Sound presenter is to co-host the grand final of a regional talent competition.
The much-anticipated Nottinghamshire's Got Talent (NGT) finale is set to light up Mapperley Plains Social Club on Saturday 30th November 2024, when audiences can expect an unforgettable night of talent, entertainment, and community spirit.
Founded by local talent advocate Owen Brindley, NGT has become a key event for Nottinghamshire, showcasing the best up-and-coming performers from across the region. This year’s lineup features an impressive variety of acts, including singers, dancers, comedians, and choirs—each ready to wow the audience and judges as well as celebrate Nottinghamshire’s rich talent.
Singer-songwriter, producer, and DJ, Liam Price, widely recognised from his semi-finalist appearance on The Voice Kids in 2019, will bring his unique blend of original music and DJ prowess to the event.
Opening the show is Georgie Mills, the reigning Nottinghamshire’s Got Talent 2023 winner, who has captivated audiences with her powerful vocals and undeniable stage presence.
Joining Liam and Georgie this year are several exceptional artists, each bringing their unique flair to the event. The vibrant Liv Presents, a renowned drag artist and events producer, promises to add a dash of fabulous energy and entertainment to the evening, showcasing the rich diversity of talent within the community. Additionally, Matthew Stevens, a choreographer known for his work in the West End, will bring his expertise in dance to the stage, adding a touch of professional choreography to this year’s show.
With such a talented lineup, the event is poised to be a celebration of creativity and community spirit, further emphasising the remarkable talent Nottinghamshire has to offer.
Councillor Kyle Robinson-Payne, the Deputy Mayor of Gedling, will attend, highlighting the importance of local initiatives that celebrate and support community talent. Stu Arnold aka Terminator UK, who may been seen from his semi-finalist’s appearance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2011 when he will bring his comedy sketch of Keith Lemo. However, he will be returning on the judging panel table for his 3rd year running due to popular demand.
Among the acts competing for the spotlight are talented solo singers Rosie Kate, Rhianna McNally, Mia Rathbone, Freddie Vokes, Jax Taylor, Grace Millar, and adding to the musical mix is the dynamic United Voice Choir. Dance will take centre stage with Isabelle Willbye while the Crystal Dance Academy brings a larger-than-life group performance. For a touch of humour, comedian Zachery Brookes promises to keep the audience laughing throughout the evening.
This year’s NGT Final is about more than just entertainment; it’s also an opportunity to support an important local cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit Shine, Nottingham Playhouse’s flagship programme that offers free theatre sessions to over 500 young people across Nottinghamshire each year.
Through Shine, children and young people who face barriers to arts and cultural opportunities —whether financial, geographical, or medical — gain access to high-quality creative experiences, helping them build confidence, friendships, and life skills. Jess Straub,
Development and Sponsorship Manager at Nottingham Playhouse said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Nottinghamshire’s Got Talent team for raising funds towards our Shine programme. Shine engages with hundreds of young people every year through offering free weekly theatre sessions in their communities, giving young people the chance to play, create and grow in confidence through theatre. By bringing these sessions directly to local areas, we make theatre accessible to all and help it become a vital part of the community fabric. We thank everyone involved in Nottinghamshire’s Got Talent for their support towards Shine and look forward to seeing the positive impact this event will
have.”
Since its founding in 2021, Nottinghamshire's Got Talent has offered emerging performers a platform to gain experience, connect with the community, and even launch careers in entertainment. Founder Owen Brindley, who has overcome challenges from Branchio-Oto-Renal Syndrome, was inspired to create NGT by his own journey in entertainment. After a life-changing opportunity with When You Wish Upon a Star, Owen Brindley was a radio presenter for a radio station on FMB Radio and Nottinghamshire YMCA Digital, where he championed young performers. Today, he is a mentor and inspiration to many, and his vision for NGT
continues to empower and encourage local artists.
Excited for the big night, Owen Brindley shared: “I’m delighted to be back hosting NGT for a third year! I’m passionate about showcasing the incredible talent we have in our community, and I can’t wait to see this year’s contestants light up the stage. This year I am delighted to be hosting alongside with Amelia Salmons who is a radio presenter on Erewash Sound and a journalist for Hits Radio. In the past she also did some work with Notts TV as a journalist.”
This year’s event also welcomes YouTube star Lydia Alty to the team. She’ll be working behind the scenes, sharing her excitement: “I’m really passionate about giving everyone the chance to showcase their talent, and I’m thrilled to help bring NGT to life this year!”
