Erewash Liberal Democrats have announced the selection of James Archer as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) for the Erewash constituency.
A parish councillor in Sawley and chair of the local party for the last two years, James is an Engineer working at Rolls-Royce and has lived in Erewash for 8 years with his young family.
He has been a Unite union rep and equalities officer at his local union branch. Recently arranging for the branch to donate £2000 to local homeless charity the Canaan Trust for their female homeless house. He is also passionate about protecting the environment.
James said: “I am excited to be selected to represent the Liberal Democrats at the next election. The Liberal Democrats will always strive to deliver to a fair deal for everyone. The Liberal Democrats have offered the best solutions for the cost-of-living crisis, the NHS and protecting the environment, and continue to do so.”
“In contrast, the Conservatives have concentrated on a phoney war on immigration. They should know better. High levels of immigration are a symptom of a problem that they have caused. We are not training and nurturing enough of the homegrown talent that our NHS, care sector, high-tech industries and many other areas need. The Liberal Democrats will change that with proper workforce strategies and real investment in education, that is the way to cut immigration.”
“The Conservatives are not investing in green improvements that could have cut £200 a year off the average energy bill since David Cameron told his ministers to cut the green crap. The Liberal Democrats would fix this by setting up a Green Investment Bank, to invest in green improvement and cut peoples energy bills, in Erewash and across the country.”
“There is an alternative to these failing Conservatives not just the copy and paste Labour party, and I hope that voters in Erewash will put their trust in me and the Liberal Democrats to fix the root causes of our country’s problems and deliver the fair deal that Erewash residents deserve.”
