Emma Clarke's passing spurs £30k fundraising drive for Sandiacre Town FC

Emma Clarke

Bereavement has spurred three local people to get back into fundraising to support Sandiacre Town FC.

Dedicated grass roots football supporter and proud Mum Emma Clarke passed away on 3rd April 2024 aged just 44.

Her funeral was held later that month at St Giles Church, followed by a private family cremation and a wake at St. Giles Park, the home of the Saints.  In her memory, sizeable donations were made to Maggie's Centre and MacMillan Cancer Support.

Now, three Saints supporters, Alan, Jack and George have set up a Go Fund Me web page with the aim to raise £30,000 to help a wider campaign of fundraising which seeks to build new changing rooms for Sandiacre Town FC at their home ground in the village.

A statement from organiser Liam Sisson, appealing for support, said: "The club have approached myself and the boys, and they would like to name the building after Emma. Knowing how passionate Emma was about the club, we feel this would be a great way to remember Emma by leaving a lasting legacy for many years to come."
