Michelle Waters, Company Director of Defib4life Ltd

A company which seeks to ensure that life-saving defibrillators are readily available where they are needed most has been shortlisted for a prestigious Business Improvement Through Technology Award as part of an East Midlands Chamber event.

Defib4Life campaigns and works to ensure that location such as schools, sports facilities, workplaces and public spaces have an vital equipment to hand.  With over 30,000 sudden cardiac arrests occurring outside of hospitals in the UK each year, having access to a defibrillator within minutes can mean the difference between life and death, and enables communities to be better prepared for emergencies.

The East Midlands Chamber Awards ceremony, which takes place on October 25th at Pride Park Stadium, follows the Chamber's provision of funding to the company which allowed it to examine its online presence and explore how technology could enhance the business.  The company has since modified its website including provision of online training resources.

A statement from Company Director Michelle Waters said: "Being included in the Business Improvement through Technology category is not only an honour but also a reflection of how Defib4Life has successfully harnessed technology to make a real difference in people's lives."

The awards ceremony will take place on October 25th at Derby County Football Club.
