The people of Ilkeston and surrounding areas are continuing to respond following the death of Noah Smedley.
In the wake of his death, the mother of one of Noah's close friends, Sheryl Brough, has set up an online page to collect donations with the aim to give Noah "...the send off he truly deserves.". Sheryl also said that the teenager "...had his young life snatched away from him at the young age of 18."
On the donation website page, she said: "He was the victim of a stabbing in Ilkeston. I'm just trying to raise as much money as possible and ease pressure from his family at this extremely sad, heartbreaking and difficult time. Come on people of Ilkeston, let's come together when this family needs it the most. I know times are hard, but every penny counts no matter how small.".
In just a short space of time, thousands of pounds have been raised and the figure continues to climb as the people of Erewash and others show a united response numbering several hundred people after the incident which shocked the community during the festive period.
Tributes continue to be shared on line by Noah's friends and family.
