Temporary changes to our Gold Card service the countys concessionary travel scheme for older and disabled people - will come to an end on Monday 15 June.
Since March, Derbyshire County Council had given all Gold Card holders the ability to travel free before 9.30am on weekdays. From 15 June free travel will only be available after 9.30am on weekdays.
With numbers increasing on public transport, space is needed at the beginning of the day for key workers and others to get to work.
Gold Card holders are still able to travel before 9.30am, but will need to pay for their ticket.
Travel will still be free after 9.30am on weekdays and at any time during weekends and bank holidays.
Passengers are also being reminded that from 15 June they will need to wear a face covering.
Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Infrastructure, Councillor Simon Spencer, said: We now need to make sure that there is plenty of space for key workers and others to get to work on buses, so unfortunately need to return to the normal arrangements for Gold Card holders.
Card holders can still travel for free after 9.30am, and during the weekends.
Gold Card is Derbyshires version of the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) which usually allows eligible residents to travel free after 9.30am weekdays.
Gold Card also provides discounts at around 700 shops and on other services. It can also be used as a library card.
