Borrowash family appeal for information after pet is killed in hit and run

, ,

A Borrowash family has offered a reward for information which leads to a prosecution after their dog was run over and killed with the driver failing to stop at the scene.

The incident occurred at around 12noon on Saturday 8th June on Derby Road in the village and involved a black SUV type vehicle which was travelling westbound towards Derby from Borrowash village, along the section past St. Hugh's Church approaching Spondon.

A statement from the family said: "We are pleading for anyone who can offer any information, that may assist in tracing the driver of this vehicle.  The time of the incident is quite precise, to within a couple of minutes, so 12 midday."

It appealed for anyone with dash-cam footage or CCTV to come forward, adding that whilst the matter had been reported to Police, they had still not received any contact, so had taken to social media to make a direct appeal themselves.

Anyone with any information is being asked to contact Police on the non-emergency number 101, by using Police social media or their website or by contacting Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111 or online.
