The Long Eaton School has changed the trust to which it is affiliated as February 2021 begins.
Formerly part of the Nosworthy Trust, the school is now part of the Nottingham-based Archway Learning Trust which is branching outside of the City into Derby and Derbyshire.
Sian Hampton, Archway Learning Trust CEO said: I am delighted to welcome the staff and students into our Archway family. This is an exciting period of growth for us and we are keen to get to know our new colleagues and students. The mission statement at Archway is working together, transforming lives, nothing could be more appropriate as we enter this new phase in our journey.
Archway Learning Trust has a proven track record of successfully turning schools around with the notable success including Bluecoat Beechdale Academy which went from an OFSTED rating of inadequate to good under the support and guidance of the Archway Learning Trust.
Richard Peel, Headteacher at The Long Eaton School also commented: Joining Archway Learning Trust provides an exciting opportunity for the Long Eaton School, allowing us to work in a mutually supportive way with a larger group of schools to offer the best possible educational experience to the young people of Long Eaton. Archway Learning Trust has a strong record in providing high quality education and student outcomes in all of their schools.
Their vision statement of working together, transforming lives underpins much of the work taking place already at our school and I look forward to working with Archway as we continue to raise standards at the Long Eaton School.
