Borough Council issues apology after 30th June Museum event is cancelled

Erewash Borough Council has issued an apology after a live outdoor music show which was due to be held at The Erewash Museum at the end of June was cancelled.

A statement from the local authority said that decision had been made following a combination of circumstances described as 'unforeseen', but these included the England football team winning their Euro 2024 group to progress to the knockout rounds, which means Gareth Southgate’s men will be in action the same afternoon - 30th June.

Whilst issuing the apology, there was clarity that those who had already bought tickets for the outdoor event would receive a full refund, automatically for those who used a bank or credit card, whilst those who paid in person at either of the Town Halls are being encouraged to return on a day that the sites are open so that they can be reimbursed.

Erewash Borough Council will now be looking at other events to support using the allocation from the UK Shared Prosperity Funding which had been committed to this event.

Town Hall reception desks are open four days a week from 10am to 12 noon. Ilkeston Town Hall is closed on Wednesdays while Long Eaton Town Hall is closed on Thursdays.
