Residents, organisations and school children are celebrating their gardening victories after another phenomenal year for the Erewash in Bloom awards.
The annual gardening competition organised by Erewash Borough Council encourages green-fingered residents to show off their gardens, to find the next Alan Titchmarsh in the borough. The 2022 results were announced in a ceremony at Morley Hayes Golf Club on Friday 7th October.
This year saw 119 entries of all ages ranging from first time entrants to competition veterans. A mixture of residents, school children, community groups and organisations submitted their gardening achievements.
Bloom is the flagship project of the councils Pride in Erewash Campaign. This years competition included the traditional Bloom categories such as best front and rear garden, tallest sunflower and best allotment 2022 also saw a special additional category for the best display that celebrated the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.
Councillor Carol Hart, Leader of Erewash Borough Council, said: It always a great honour and privilege to see the incredible talents of Erewash residents.
