Crime prevention advice issued after keyless car thefts

Derbyshire Police officers have issued crime prevention advice to motorists after a series of keyless car thefts in South Derbyshire, one affecting the Erewash borough. Investigations are underway after four suspected ‘relay theft’ incidents in which Kia vehicles have been targeted over several days. Vehicles seized as part of ‘Operation Drive Insured’

Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team officers have taken part in a county wide operation to target drivers using vehicles without insurance. During week commencing 20th April, a number of vehicles were seized under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act. Funding success will improve three Derbyshire libraries, two in Erewash

Three Derbyshire libraries, two in Erewash, are to benefit from a £440,000 funding boost announced on 14th April 2026.  Derbyshire County Council has welcomed the funding which will be spent on reinvigorating and enhancing its libraries in Alfreton, Ilkeston and Long Eaton.
