Mayor plays down £400m plan for trams coming to Derby (Consultation runs to 8th February)

A Long Eaton man has been remanded into custody until mid-February after local Police received an emergency call reporting that a male had been assaulted in the town. Officers from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team responded to the 999 call on the evening of Saturday 17th January, attending the scene on Grasmere Road. Work has started to build a bridge over the Erewash Canal in Long Eaton which will be a vital link for residents of the town. The Britannia Mills bridge, which is near Bennett Street, is one of the Government funded Long Eaton Town Deal projects. Two schools in Erewash have been included in a list of schools across Derbyshire which are set to receive a share of £4.5m towards the cost of creating more space and making the learning environment better for students.
