19/04/2024: The Animal Unit at Derby College Group’s Broomfield Hall will welcome visitors on Sunday 12th May between 11am and 3pm for its Conservation Themed Animal Unit Open Day.
19/04/2024: A House Party night is to be held at The Festival Inn, Trowell on Saturday 27th April from 7pm to midnight.  The music will be house music from the 90s and now.  Tickets are £10 each with all proceeds going to Ben's Den which provides free holidays for children with cancer and their families, to help make special memories for them at such a difficult time. 18/04/2024: Officers from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Teams have seized a large quantity of vapes with an estimated value of £300 during a routine patrol.
18/04/2024: A repeat cross-border shop thief has been jailed and banned from entering 12 stores in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Prolific offender Billy-Jean Summers targeted stores in Long Eaton and Sandiacre along with Chilwell and Wollaton in Nottinghamshire between 8th March and 5th April 2024.

15/04/2024: An event to address Derby’s rising child poverty takes place in the city later this month.
15/04/2024: Join the Long Eaton Natural History Society Wildlife Group on short wildlife walks around the local area.  For 2024, the walks start with something a bit different.  Aquabox provides safe drinking water and humanitarian aid to people affected by disasters.  This walk is to visit the Aquabox Charity and will be held on Monday 22nd April.
