Maggie Throup, Member of Parliament for Erewash recently visited an energy efficient home project on Bunting Close, Kirk Hallam.

As part of a drive to increase the number of energy efficient homes across the country, E.ON are working with local authorities, including Erewash Borough Council, to install around £34 million of upgrades to around 4,000 homes across the country.

E.ON’s collaboration with Erewash Borough Council will deliver £1.1 million of Government Sustainable Warmth Competition funding up to June 2023.

As part of these works, 15 properties on Bunting Close and surrounding roads are being upgraded and provided with External Wall Insulation. The residents living in these properties will now benefit from warmer homes and lower energy bills.

Maggie said: “It was really interesting to visit the home upgrades on Bunting Close. The site visit provided me with an opportunity to engage with residents, meet local installers and talk about the benefits of energy efficient homes.

“Thanks to the Government’s multi-million-pound investment into the delivery of local green home improvements, the residents on Bunting Close are now experiencing the long-term benefits of greener, cheaper and more energy efficient homes.

“I would like to thank E.ON for arranging the site visit and I hope more residents will be interested in the energy efficient home upgrade scheme in the future.”
